Necessity is the mother of invention—that sums up our origin story. The idea for Framky came about when we wanted to create our own family gallery. Photography has always been a part of our lives. As our children were born, our collection of family photos grew. We wanted to turn them into a wall gallery so that these images would remind us of beautiful moments every day. For a long time, we weren't sure how to begin, but after moving into our new house, it was clear: it was now or never.The process was long. We didn't know where to have the photos printed or which frames would be suitable. I drew countless layouts in CAD until we found the perfect arrangement of 24 frames. Even then, the implementation was difficult because we needed a printing company that could deliver photographer-quality prints and also frame the images. Precisely drilling almost 50 holes was a challenge. With the help of friends, a laser level, and a tape measure, it took us hours – but the result exceeded all expectations. Our children recognize themselves at every meal, and guests admire the photos.After this experience, the idea matured: What if we drastically simplified the process so that more people could create their own picture wall?This is how Framky was created.
